Monitoring, Reporting & Scanning Services

Monitoring & reporting are the foundation of all IPkey operations and services.

To manage, first measure
to measure, first monitor.

Prism

We are pleased to announce a new member of our monitoring family - Prism Business Service Management (BSM). This powerful technology has been developed by an extremely talented young company called FireScope.

Our Services at a glance...

  1. BSM:  Business Service Management

  2. SIM:  Security Information Management

  3. APM:  Availability & Performance Monitoring

  4. SEM/SIM:  Security Event Monitoring & Information Management

  5. VS:  Vulnerability Scanning

Our hallmark monitoring & reporting service, Availability & Performance Monitoring (APM) provide our customers with the foundation to measure and manage their IT infrastructure. This is a tried and proven solution, and together with the many years of experience we have accrued, allows us to offer remarkable depth at an affordable price. Our security monitoring solution consists of the following two services:

Security Event Monitoring (SEM) is our premium service that gives you near real-time monitoring of all security events generated by your equipment. SEM can also generate email alerts for predefined conditions.

Security Information Management (SIM) provides both standard and fast, ad-hoc reports to provide a strategic management perspective. By empowering you to create and view a wide variety of security reports, you can uncover what is really going through your network.

Why use Independent 3rd-Party Monitoring?

Most organizations have few or no compensating controls for senior IT security staff. Unless an expensive 3rd party audit is undertaken, there is no independent confirmation that IT security is being legitimately managed. Furthermore, any clandestine activity will be unlikely to be detected until a gross error is made or the employee has left.

External, third-party monitoring makes it very, very difficult for events to be concealed. While it is possible to ‘break’ the stream of event logging by disabling the logging process itself, the ‘gap’ in the record would be suspicious.

Security monitoring should be handled by someone other than IT staff, for the same reasons that auditors should remain separate from accountants and bookkeepers.
