Managed Secure Gateway

For most organizations, the single point of contact with the Internet is through a security appliance such as a firewall or UTM device.  Like the front door in a very rough neighborhood - it's vital that it be secured AND maintained.  Our Managed Secure Gateway service provides your organization with proven expertise to ensure 24x7 vigilance of that critical point of entry.

 

We currently offer management packages for both Sonicwall firewalls and Fortinet security appliances.  If you already own one or more of these devices, we can place them under our firewall management program.  If not, we recommend one of the new Fortinet Secure Gateways as offering the best performance and overall value.  Their security appliances are quadruple certified by ICSA labs for firewall, VPN, Intrusion Detection and Anti-Virus capabilities. Furthermore, Web Content Filtering offers powerful control over Internet usage by both reporting and blocking the type of web sites that are accessed.  All monitoring and management is performed through an authenticated, encrypted connection.

 

Our Managed Secure Gateway program offers the following services

1. Policy Management & Verification
   All security appliances execute policies that are programmed into the device.  Our Managed Secure Gateway program provides our engineers with detailed reporting that verifies that your policies really are working as planned.

2. 24x7 Monitoring
   Real-time polling and exception handling of your firewall from our Network Operations Center. For more info, see Managed Monitoring

3. Intelligent Alerting
   All alerts are customized to your needs, and designed such that your IT staff receives only the alerts they need, when they need them.

4. Analytics and Reporting
   Periodic reporting is available on a monthly, weekly or daily basis. For more information, see Analytics & Reporting

5. Content Filtering
   This single service can boost productivity and save big. Cut down on non-business Internet use, free up bandwidth consumed by streaming video and other unproductive activities. 

6. Firmware Updates
   After extensive internal testing, we will apply the most current vendor firmware and make any configuration changes required or recommended by the manufacturer.

7. VPN Management
   Remote users, branch offices and business partners can connect securely across the Internet.  Our Managed Secure Gateway service ensures that these connections are correctly configured and secure.

8. Performance Trending
   Real-time interface, CPU and memory utilization are among the metrics captured is in our Managed Secure Gateway service. This invaluable tool enables you to see at-a-glance both current activity and historical trends. This serves both in identifying bottlenecks and capacity planning.

9. Security Zoning
   Segmenting your network into smaller subnets can have many benefits. Network performance is typically improved, but the real benefit is being able to isolate sensitive or protected data from the rest of the network. Examples are servers or PCs with PCI protected credit card data, HIPAA protected medical information and HR/Payroll systems.
